I (Michelle Staley) have been practicing as a mental health therapist for over 20 years. My approach to therapy is client-centered and cognitive-behavioral and includes yoga, yoga principles, and a deep appreciation for eastern philosophies.
Having obtained my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University, I have been practicing since 1995 in various community settings, specializing in the treatment of depression and anxiety, childhood trauma, attachment disorders, addictions, and PTSD for both children and adults. The state of Illinois licenses me as a Licensed Certified Professional Counselor.
Yoga has been an important part of my life since my first class that I attended while in college. About 10 years ago, in a personal yoga retreat at Mt. Madonna, I realized that I wanted to utilize the healing aspects of yoga in my clinical work. I then worked with Amy Weintraub to obtain a certification in LifeForce Yoga.
